It's a shame that the owners of a dog of this age cannot care for it any longer... 13 years old is a very senior dog and I'm sadden that it has to leave it's parents at such a fragile age. Dog ownership is a commitment and if you can't have a dog with your current lifestyle, especially a dog of this age, you need to do some serious reflection on your life.
Missy - I agree with you that it is sad when a senior dog is given up for adoption. I don't know what the circumstances are for this couple, but I wanted LCD to do its part in helping find this dog a stable home to live out her final years. I'd rather the couple not have to turn her into a shelter, where the chances of senior dogs being adopted is slim.
