A Book You and Your Dog Can Live By

In my search to find information that could help me with my new puppy I came across what seems to me to be a dog owner's best friend. It is called The Dog Bible. It is a book written by Tracie Hotchner (a life-long dog owner) to help you and your dog live a happy healthy life.

It has the necessary helpful tips from house training to doggie safety. It also includes a chapter written just for kids to help a child understand the responsibilities and safety measures that go along with owning a dog. The Dog Bible also includes interesting topics such as dog psychology and administering CPR to your pup.

So, if you're like me and have a new puppy or if you have a dog that you think could even slightly benefit from this book I would definitely recommend it! :) The Dog Bible can be purchased from amazon.com

Hiking Boots, check. Parka, check. Emergency beacon, check. Dog, check.

Click here to read about how Velvet, a lab mix, saved her owner and three other hikers on Mt. Hood. Despite using their emergency beacon once in danger, it was Velvet's warmth that kept the hikers alive until they could be rescued.

Ah, Nostalgia!
Looks like this old dog and classic trick have been revived.

I couldn't believe it when I saw this... I was handed down a bank just like this one from my mom's childhood. I remember playing with it and thinking it was such a fun way to save my pennies. Now you too can empty your pockets of spare change, and watch the trick dog take your coin in his mouth, jump through the hoop, and deposit it in the barrel. Click here to purchase.
Now I wonder what happened to my Mom's original?

Don't you love the English?

Here's a lovely English company found via Design* Sponge. Whippet Grey, (fantastic name, huh?) has a variety of unique products for the dog lover, including this great lead greyhound. And they'll ship to the US too. Even if the greyhound is a bit pricey for you (it is 950 pounds) their pop up book style online catalog is such a visual joy it's worth a look.
